Small Works

This is a different style of work from my main East meets West themed pop art.
After I experiment with metal leafing techniques on small pieces, I sometimes keep working on them and create a little world within.
Materials I often use for these small paintings are Dutch metal leaf, copper leaf, aluminum leaf, silver leaf, variegated leaf, vinegar, oil pastels, acrylics, acrylic mediums, graphite, and so on.
These small pieces are spontaneous, intimate and joyful not to mention an enjoyment of viewing jewel like shiny and fascinating metal leafing textures up close.
Around 2007 I created a series of this small paintings especially for the "C-Note Show" at San Diego Art Institute.
Greeting cards of selected paintings are available at vitreum, Little Italy, San Diego.
